Check Us Out at Palm Springs Modernism Week, Kicking Off Today!
Palm Springs Modernism Week kicks off today and we’re pleased to announce that you can see modwalls® tile in two of the homes on the tour!
If you’re in the area, and love some mid-century design & architecture (you know we do), then you’ll really enjoy this 11 day event.
We have a sneak peek of one of the houses so you can get a little taste of what you would see on the home tour.
Our friends at GreenGuys Construction did quite a number on the mid-century cutie you’ll see in the video, and impressively, they used a “green” approach throughout.
Modwalls® 100% Recycled Glass Pebble tile is used on the shower floor; look for it at the 1:18 mark in the video!

Hats off for making green look so good, GreenGuys Construction!
Modwalls Tile In Katie Brown’s Gorgeous Amagansett Home – Part 1
Back in July we told you about modwalls’ Sarah’s trip to the Hamptons to visit Katie Brown’s beautiful Amagansett home & film a short feature about tile for an upcoming episode of her PBS show KB Workshop. It was such a blast!
We told you the home and the tile was unbelievable, and now you can see for yourself!
Today we’re sharing photos of Katie’s master bathroom with our Lush® 3×6 Driftwood tile installed in a modern, straight joint. (This same color tile is now available in super hot, extra large 4×12 subway size too, and it’s just as stunning).
We think we’re in love.
Can this bathroom be our Valentine?
Hello, Retro
What do you get when you salvage a “Ming Green” sink and tub and add modwalls’ tiles?
You get one retro-licious bathroom.
Check out this magnificentness:
The too-cute countertop tile is our Lush® 1×2 Santa Monica subway tile blend. So yummy.
And then there’s the tub and the super cool custom tile design our customer created with our Lush® 1×2 Santa Monica blend plus our Lush® 3×6 glass subway tiles in the colors (from top of the tub to bottom): Vapor, Breaker, Pool, Surf and Seagrass.
This sweet bathroom looks like its straight out of the pages of our new favorite book, Pantone’s The 20th Century of Color.
See what we mean?
We think Grace would approve.
For Your Consideration
The newest member of modwalls® team is the fabulous Katelyn Bowman, and she is one talented woman.
Katelyn is a licensed interior designer and an avid photographer; she’s our trade account specialist and she’s playing the role of graphic designer here too because we absolutely LOVE her creations (and we think you will too!).
Katelyn recently created these gorgeous tile collages and we thought they were so lovely they just had to go public (on the blog, that is).
Feast your eyes on the beauties below…
First up is modwalls® Lush® Rex Ray Studio 4×12 “TYPE white” and “TYPE black” glass subway tiles.
Next is our ModRocks™ Recycled Glass Pebble tile, our ModDotz™ Mango porcelain penny round tile and our CorkDotz™ Cork penny round tile. Loooove!
And then we have our Lush® 3×6 Peacock tile across the top of the page, a herringbone layout of our Lush® 3×6 Quince and Lush® 3×6 Butter tiles, and two shots of our Lush® 1×4 Pool mini glass subway tile.
Last is our fresh and fantastic “Plus” Design ceramic tiles in colors Brine, Milk and Splash (and a Regulated Mix of all 3 colors).
This tile is just delicious, end of story.
SO PRETTY!

modwalls + Design Milk !
Happy Friday!
We couldn’t take off for the weekend without first sharing this rockin’ blog from one of our favorite, favorite online design mags, Design Milk, all about installing our Lush® 3×6 Vapor glass subway tile!
Design Milk’s editor extraordinaire Jaime Derringer used the tile for her recent kitchen remodel and blogged all about it. You can read the whole article which details her step-by-step tile installation process here: http://bit.ly/zNC6H7
Here’s a little picky from the blog… more photos to come!

Don’t cha love knowing what leaders in the industry are doing with their own spaces? Yeah? Us too!

Today’s Color Inspiration: Mellow, Minty Green
We’ve noticed that modwalls®’s customers seem to favor three colors more than any others in our Lush® palette:
1) Lush® Cloud, our classic white glass tile.
2) Lush® Vapor, a subtle pale blue.
3) Lush® Surf, a soothing, watery green.
And it’s this last color that sparked today’s color inspiration: mellow, minty green.
Here’s a Japanese soaking tub with our Lush® 3×6 Surf backsplash tile:
This mod bathroom has our ModDotz™ Pistachio porcelain penny round tiles:
Here’s a slightly different take on the color as seen in our 3/4″ mosaic tile blend Brio® Surfside:
And another variation, this time the tile is our Lush® 1×2 blend Santa Monica.
And finally, one of our favorites is this kitchen with Lush® 4×12 Surf tile:
What do you think of this color trend?
Is is you?
“Tileplace” – An homage to the tiled fireplace
When it’s cold outside like today, nothing satisfies more than cozying up next to the fireplace with a hot drink, a good book and/or a cuddle buddy. Wouldn’t you agree?
These tiled fireplaces are giving us this feeling called WANT and we have it BAD.
Here’s a living room with modwalls® Brio® White Linen 3/4″ mosaic tile blend on the fireplace… its such a subtle blend, and it looks at home in any interior (kitchen backsplashes, bathroom showers, floors- you name it).
That wingback chair is calling our name!
Or maybe that look is a little too cozy for your taste? Perhaps you’re more at home with something classic, with a twist…
If so, we’d suggest a fireplace tile like our Lush® 1/2×2 Moss tile; its fresh, stacked format is slightly edgy and pairs well with the traditional earthy green color of the tile.
This fireplace-entertainment center was actually featured on the HGTV show Destination Design.
And last, what we’re about to show you is one of the best fireplaces we’ve EVER seen. And you know we mean it!
Say hello to this tiled fireplace with modwalls® Brio® 3/4″ mosaic tile “Cilantro” and our Lush® Henry Road “Butterfly“ tile. This is one of the rooms at the Glen Oaks Big Sur lodge in Big Sur, CA.
How sweet is this space?!
We wanna be friends with this fireplace.
So…. What does your fantasy fireplace look like?
